One quick solution is to download a free player such as VLC
media player. This is a great little player that already comes loaded with lots
of codecs. A little better than trying to find
windows media codecs.
It is an on going project that is licensed under GNU
(general public license) you can visit their website and even download the
player at
http://www.videolan.org.
If that doesn’t work then you may need to go surfing
for windows media codecs you need on Google or yahoo.
Just type in “windows media codecs.” Change
your keywords around a little to produce different results.
You can also visit
http://www.3ivx.com/download/windows.html. 3ivx offers the latest
windows media codecs that should work with your media player.
If you need to find a divx codec then visit
http://www.divx.com.
Here you can download a free version or even a paid
stronger version of the dvix coded.
This codec download even comes with the divx player if
you want to choose and use that to play your media files instead.
Other places to visit are forums. These are where
people meet and help each other out. Below we have linked to a couple of

Downloading a movie only to not be able to play it can
be a real pain.
If all of the above does not produce anything for you
and you still cannot play your movie and need windows media codecs, then you
may need to search Microsoft’s website for more information.
