Video card test

To perform a video card test, you will need to use a software program that can test your video card.

There are a few programs on the market that you can use, many of which are capable of testing others hardware and software of your computer.

A video card test might be part of your plan to diagnose a problem with your computer.  First you have to understand what is wrong with your computer.

If you computer screen is going blank from time to time or if your computer screen does not show anything at all you may need to do a video card test in an actual hardware tester.

Your local computer store should have this card tester.  Just ask them if they can test your video card for you.  They may ask for a small fee to do this.

However, if you just need to do a video card test from your own computer then you can use a program like Sandra pro to test your card.

One thing you may want to check before you do a video card test is open up your computer and make sure the video card is properly seated in its slot.

A video card can be subject to moving around a lot because it is connected to your monitor by a cord and every time that cord moves your card can move with it.

Make sure to ground yourself with the computer chassis before you touch anything inside the computer.  Once in there gently touch the top of the video card to make sure it is seated tight.

If everything seems ok then you can start a video card test.  Video cards can burn out and it does happen.

You may need to just purchase a new video card if your video card test shows nothing wrong.
