Remove norton internet security

You do not want to have two security software suites install on your computer.  The reason is because they may conflict with one another, therefore rendering both software suites useless.

When trying to remove norton internet security in windows, you will want to choose the uninstaller that came with the program.  You can usually find it from the start menu listed under the Norton icon.

Then just choose the uninstall icon and follow the directions to uninstall the program. 

If you have problems with Norton’s uninstall feature, you can then try the add and remove programs from the windows control panel. 

Just click on start and the choose control panel.  Once there select add remove programs and find the Norton security suite icon.  Next click on the icon to remove the whole program.

If the uninstaller asks if you want to keep some shared files you can leave them there and they will not hurt anything.

Sometimes you will run into problems when removing some programs such as Norton.  The only other options you will have are to delete the program from the programs listing under your C: drive. 

This should only be a last option if you are having problems.  The reason is because doing it this way will leave some files behind in windows from Norton. 

You usually do not want this but considering you may be having problems this is an option.  After you do this you will want to find some good registry cleaning software to remove the rest of the program from windows. 

Just be careful when using registry software, using it the wrong way can make your computer not boot up and corrupt windows.

If you are still having problems and you just installed the Norton suite you can always use the system restore feature in windows XP.  You will have to go back a few days to do this and choose a system restore point.
