The email goes on to say that a chairman or
some other high banking officer has approved the winnings and the
email.
What they are trying to do is get your
information or more importantly your money. They usually
want you to either email back your information or send money to
them to open the lottery.
This is all a scam. Be on the look
out for these emails and do not trust them.
Think about
this for a minute.
If you just won millions of dollars, why
would a company or foreign government just email you?
Trust us they wouldn’t.
They would have your phone number also
already on file. And you would most likely get a phone call.
Yes, if it sounds too good to be true it
most likely is. Email is a great tool but it can and is
abused. And if you didn’t sign up for a lottery over seas
then don’t believe it.
These scams do run rampant on the internet these days.
And many new computer users fall for them or at least wonder
about them and if they won. Your best bet is to delete the
email and forget about it and not worry if you won because it is
the irish lottery scam.
