Internet privacy security

|
Internet privacy security can be accomplished in a
few ways with windows. There are a few things you will want to look at
and make sure you do to keep your computer data safe.
The online
world is full of scams, spam and hackers waiting to crack into your
computer and steal your personal information. |
Don’t take things for granted with the World Wide Web.
Many new internet surfers fall prey too many of these scams daily and it is only
getting worse.
So, to make sure you have
Internet privacy security let’s
take a look at a few of the steps you need to do. By following these steps you
can rest assured your computer information will be protected from prying eyes.
The steps for internet privacy security are:
- Make sure your browser is secure.
- Make sure you are using some kind of firewall.
- Never open email attachments from someone you do not
know.
- Scan your computer weekly for viruses and spyware.
Now that you know some of the most important steps to
follow, let’s take a look at each step more closely.
Make sure your browser is secure.
The first thing that you will want to do for internet
privacy security is make sure you
are using an up to date browser. You could be using internet explorer or fire
fox. You will want to check and see if there are any updates for the browser
you are using. If you have windows, you can do this via the windows update
website. If you also see other critical updates for windows, you will want to
download these also.
Make sure you are using some kind of firewall.
The next step for internet privacy security you will want to take for internet privacy
security is to use some kind of firewall. We recommend you buy a router with a
NAT firewall. This is a hardware firewall within the router and offers the best
protection.
You can also use a software firewall at the computer
level. This does not offer as good of protection as a router would but if you
cannot afford a router then you will want to use a firewall such as zone alarm.
Never open email attachments from someone you do not
know.
This step is critical for internet privacy security. Never open email attachments from a
sender you do not know. Email can spread viruses fast. They do this mostly by
attachments. If you ever see and attachment with an .exe extension as the file
name, delete it right away. This is an executable file that could run a virus
when the attachment is clicked on.
Scan your computer weekly for viruses and spyware.
Many computers all over the world are infected daily with
viruses and spyware, without the users never even knowing it. This step is also
critical to do. You should really scan your computer at least once a week.
Make sure you have a good anti virus program and a good spyware program. Also
make sure each program is updated weekly with the latest updates and make sure
you use them. If you do anything like online baking you will want to make sure
your computer is clean and not infected.
By following the steps above you will make sure you have
internet privacy security and your information will be protected.
