Email scams are very common place these days.  It seems that more and more are happening all the time and scammers are thinking up new ways to send out scams via email.

Email scams come in many varieties and say many different things.  These scams may try and take your hard earned money or just plain steal your information.

The single most biggest thing you can do to protect yourself from email scams is very simple.  If you don’t know who sent the email DO NOT TRUST IT!

Email has become the primary way to send these scams.  The problem is when someone new to the internet reads some of these emails and then falls for the scam.

If you know someone new to the internet and they just got a new computer.  Make sure you show them this article or at least tell them about it so they can avoid email scams.

Sometimes these pages are fake and setup only to collect email address so they can send spam

Also never give out your email address over an instant message.  Scammers also tend to use these as a way to collect email address’s to send email scams.

Another way they try and collect email address and send email scams is through dating website by the use of fake profiles.

They set up a fake profile which looks legit to most people.  They then ask you to send them an email so they can communicate with you and viola, they now have your email address for email scams.

As you can see email scams are on the rise.

Remember to protect yourself and your identity.  Never ever just hand over your information to anyone you do not know and you will protect yourself from email scams.
