If you see windows messenger in the windows system tray
at the bottom right hand side of your screen then, double click on it to
open windows messenger.
Once you do this then you will want to choose the tools
menu and then choose options. Once you do this next choose preferences.
You will see an option that states run windows
messenger when windows starts. All you need to do is make sure you uncheck
this box. Once you do this the windows messenger service will not start the
next time your run your computer. This is not the only disable windows
messenger option though.
If you want to fully uninstall it from windows then you
will need to use the windows control panel to make sure it is uninstalled
from windows.
Just go to start and then choose the control panel.
Once there choose the add/remove programs icon. When this window comes up
then on the left hand side you will see another icon to add/remove windows
components. Choose this icon.
When this window pops up then scroll all the way to the
bottom and you will see an icon for windows messenger.
Go ahead and uncheck this box and restart your
computer. Once you do this, this will disable windows messenger completely
from your computer.
