Dating scams are on the rise now more then ever.
It’s no joke and people have fallen victim to these scam and lost good
money over them.
The internet seems to be a playground for dating
scams and scam
artists. You might not believe it but these scammers have their trade
down pat and swindle enough money to support a regular fulltime scam
business. |
You need to be aware of a few things when dating on the
internet and not fall for dating scams. First of all be cautious of giving out any personal information to
anyone.
Some dating scams work overtime collecting your
information little by little. Then, when they think they have you they move in
for the big payoff.
Yes, it’s true; they will build your trust and then try to
take your money.
Nigeria is huge place where these dating scams hide and
perform their task.
They actually have boiler rooms or call centers where
people are employed to swindle people with dating scams.
They will use pictures of good looking people and send a
few over time. They may even give you a phone number and talk to you on the
phone for a few months.
They can and may even tell you they live in the same county
as you or they can even tell you they live abroad. The point here is to be very
skeptical of anyone you meet.
The biggest dating scams they have going is where they plan
to make only a few hundred dollars.
Once they build your trust they may tell you they want to
meet your in person. They then ask if you will split the air fare with them.
Once you do, they then collect the air ticket and then cash
it in for the pay off. You never hear from them again.
Sometimes, they build enough trust and ask for money
boldly with their dating scams.
If they get along with someone and have built a good amount
of trust, these scammers will plan on trying to swindle a few thousand dollars
from someone.
The good news is there are now a growing number of websites
where you can see photos of all of these people and read about what user names
they are using in dating scams.
These scammer usually use photos of good looking innocent
people. So you need to realize the photo for what it is and then see if you can
find it.
