Computer Memory Problems - Sometimes this can seem like a virus.

Computer memory problems could seem like your computer has a virus at times.  If the memory in your pc has gone bad then you could be experiencing a few different problems.

Once memory is totally shot your computer may not even startup.  At this point you will have to diagnose the problem and replace the ram.

One of the quickest ways to do this is to remove the memory from your computer then take it down to your local computer store where they have a memory tester.  Simply replace the memory if it is bad after the test.

If your computer can still run but you are experiencing some computer memory problems then you will want to run a program that can test your memory.

There are a few programs on the market that will allow you to do this.  Once such program is MEM32.  This is freeware you can use to test and possibly recover your memory.  Download MEM32 here!

Another program you can use to diagnose problems is Sandra.  This program will allow you to see if there is anything else wrong with your computer.

Memory problems can take on different forms such as windows rebooting, hang-ups, shut downs and error messages.

If you can safely boot windows into safe mode then you may be experiencing driver problems and not memory problems.

When working with memory it is extremely important that it is handled properly.  Ram is very sensitive to static.  You will want to use an antistatic wrist band if you try removing any memory from your computer.

If you keep getting different errors with different addresses then your problem is most likely not your memory.

Things like this can occur for many different reasons including software, heat or dust.  However if you keep getting the same address over and over in the error, then it could be computer memory problems.  See our article here about computer keeps rebooting.

If you do not know much about computers and you keep getting these error messages, then you will need to write down the error messages you are experiencing and talk with someone who is experienced.

The error messages you are experiencing can be very beneficial to a technician in diagnosing your computer memory problems.  Make sure to write down all of the code.

Memory or RAM (Random Access Memory) is in effect the working memory of your computer.  This is where code is held and sometimes used for programs and other things your computer stores.

When you pc is shut off your RAM is then cleared.

The last thing you can try is shutting down your PC for at least ten minutes.  This will give enough time for the memory to clear.

Although memory does usually clear within a few seconds, shutting it down for this amount of time many not be a permanent fix but it may fix problems long enough to allow you to reload windows and backup your data if you haven’t already.  Computer memory problems can be a real pain.
